Lodestar Learning is a specialist tutoring service built on clarity, care, and academic excellence. We work with learners who need more than routine tuition, offering expert guidance which supports academic progress alongside personal growth. Lodestar currently offers tuition in English. This focused beginning reflects a commitment to depth, quality, and subject expertise, with provision expanding over time.
Our approach draws on more than two decades of experience across state, private, independent UK, and international schools.
Lodestar was founded by an educator who has served as Head of Secondary, Head of English, Literacy Lead, and Assistant Head of Teaching and Learning. This work included responsibility for curriculum design, staff development, assessment systems, and student wellbeing across GCSE, IGCSE, AS, A Level, and international programmes.
This leadership experience shapes every aspect of our work. We bring high standards, thoughtful planning, and a deep understanding of how young people learn into each tutoring relationship. Lessons are never generic. They are designed around individual strengths, challenges, and goals, with a sustained focus on confidence, independence, and long term progress.
Lodestar exists for students who benefit from a calm, respectful, and responsive learning environment. Many learners, including neurodiverse students, thrive when teaching adapts to them rather than imposing rigid systems. Learning moves at the right pace, in the right direction, for the right reasons. This is where every learner charts their own course.
As Lodestar Learning develops, additional subjects and tutors will be introduced. Each tutor will bring strong subject knowledge, emotional awareness, and a shared commitment to high quality teaching. Families will continue to receive the same level of personal attention, consistency, and professionalism, alongside access to a broader range of specialist support.
At Lodestar, we believe that building a strong and supportive community is key to our success. If you are interested in joining our team, or are just curious about what we do and who we work with, then get in touch.
