Tuition supports pupils from upper primary through to sixth form, with particular experience in GCSE and IGCSE English.
Sessions draw on over twenty years of extensive classroom and leadership experience, with a strong understanding of effective learning strategies, student engagement and progress pathways.
Tuition focuses on individual strengths and gaps, with time to think, practise, and refine ideas in a way lessons often do not allow.
Each session follows a clear structure, beginning with a brief recap and moving towards focused learning and guided practice.
Teaching responds to the individual pupil, adjusting pace and approach to suit confidence, need, and current school work.
Tuition usually runs one to one, although we can cater for small groups. Just get in touch.
Usually initial sessions establish starting points through discussion, written work, and diagnostic tasks. Progress is then tracked through regular review of work, increasing challenge, and improved accuracy. Always feedback is clear, specific, and focused on next steps. Parents receive updates through informal feedback or scheduled check ins, depending on preference. We also offer a written half termly pogress report if required at an additional cost.
If independent work is set, it supports learning consolidation rather than adding unnecessary pressure. Guidance on how students can manage workload through prioritisation and realistic planning can be a component if needed.
